SUPERMARKETS
There are two small supermarkets in Liérganes
One is in the old part of the village and is called Supermercado Puente Romano Antiguo del Liérganes on Calle de Mercadillo. He sells an English newspaper, The Daily Telegraph. From the house, go down to the bottom of the hill, turn left onto the CA260, follow the road into Liérganes and after the traffic lights take the third turning on the right follow the road round to the left and the supermarket is on the left.
Opening hours: 10am - 12 then 2pm - 8pm Monday to Friday; 10am - 2pm Saturday, Sunday and Festivos
The second supermarket, Coviran is in Paseo del Velasco, round the corner from the station. From Paseo del Hombre Pez, go over the bridge towards the station and turn left into Paseo del Velasco before you get to Café Roble and the shop is on your left.
There is a larger supermarket in Solares called Lupa and several very large supermarkets in Santander eg Eroski and Carefour and they are generally open until about 10pm.
BUTCHERS AND FISHMONGERS
In the village of Liérganes there are two very good butchers, one on Calle de Mercadillo and a fish monger who is only open in the mornings.

There is a newsagent in Liérganes but Supermercado Puente Romano Antiguo del Liérganes on Calle de Mercadillo sells an English paper,

Location: On the N634 Bilbao - Torrelevaga road. From the house go to the bottom of the hill turn left onto the CA260 drive through Liérganes, and at the T junction turn left. Continue then go straight over the mini roundabout and at the T junction turn right. You will see the petrol station on your right.

NEAREST BUS STOPS
Destination: Santander or San Roque usually two per day around 7.50 am and 15.20 pm.
Location: At the bottom of our hill turn left onto the CA260. About 200m on the left is a bus shelter.
The bus station, Termina De Autobuses is in Solares where you can take a bus to Liérganes, Bilbao, Torrelevega, San Sebastion, Irun etc. There is usually two per day.

Location: Paseo del Valesco. From the house, go down to the bottom of the hill, turn left onto the CA260, follow the road into Liérganes and after the traffic lights take the forth turning on the right follow the road round and when you get to the bridge over the river Miera turn right over the bridge and the station is on your right. You can park round the corner if you turn right and follow it round to the left. Parking is free.
